"If I must," she sighed.

Let me tell you a story about a girl and her wisdom teeth. You see, there was this girl who was 21 and still hadn't seen hide nor hair of her wisdom teeth. "Maybe they're never coming in," she thought. And then: "Maybe that means I will never have to have them yanked from my skull."

That last thought made the girl happy, and frankly, a little smug. "My wisdom teeth aren't bothering me," she told her friends. "I'm keeping them." She even secretly thought that keeping them might actually make her wiser.

Fast forward seven years to last Saturday, when the girl realized the back of her mouth was terribly swollen and painful. It was so painful that she swallowed 800 mg of ibuprofen just to take the edge off. Fast forward again to Tuesday, when the girl went into battle with her dental insurance carrier and won herself an appointment on Wednesday afternoon. At said appointment, the girl learned that her teeth were infected and starting to decay, that she would need antibiotics, and that said teeth would be yanked on July 9th.

Wisdom was not to be hers.

Poll: laughing gas or the twilight sleep?

Please, talk amongst yourselves.
